Survey for the 3rd Fair Festival Award extended until March 31

Dear festival workers,

We heard you – half of the short month of February is dominated by the Berlinale, where many of you are working one way or another. That's why we've extended the deadline of our survey for the 3rd Fair Festival Award until March 31!

Please note that our survey is in German, and we are aware that not all festival workers speak German. However, we are currently not able to offer different language versions (at least not for this edition), but you should be able to work around this by using your browser’s translation facility to understand our questions.

You are also welcome to share and forward the link to our survey, preferably with #FairOderPrekär and #FairFestivalAward. All festival workers, regardless of their position and employment status (permanent or freelance), can take part in our anonymous survey

The aim of our survey is to determine and honour the fairest film festival in Germany. The award is not only intended to recognise good practice, but also to raise public awareness of the working situation of festival workers. We are aware that the results of our survey are only a snapshot. Also, not all festival employees will necessarily feel the same way about fairness. We know that such a rating is always a subjective matter and that your working realities differ greatly.

The more of your colleagues take part in this survey, the better your workforce will be represented. And we will get an idea of the topics that are currently important and relevant to you, in order to let us represent our common interests beyond the awards ceremony. Because we have learnt from the first two Fair Festival Awards that sometimes not everything runs perfectly, even at the award-winning festivals. In particular, we are increasingly concerned about the precarious income and employment conditions in the festival sector at a time when many festivals are forced to cut their budgets.

By the way, the survey for the Fair Festival Award is running in two rounds – so we may ask some of you to complete our survey again for a specific festival in a few weeks' time.

Thank you for your participation – and for sharing!
